The pack – Winter
The Sled Dog Pack
Come and meet our family pack and experience the traction sports (such as sledding or cani-hike) that they love so much.
Sledding
– Sledding: This activity is organized either as a driver or a passenger, and takes you on an unforgettable 10km ride through the magnificent snow-covered forests of Älglund.
– Passenger: – You are seated in the musher’s sleigh with a team of 7 dogs.
– Driving: After a thorough briefing, it’s time to practice with a smaller team (3 to 4 dogs).
You will be accompanied by the musher, who will lead the way while maintaining radio contact.
Cani-hike/Cross
Equipped with a belt and an elastic lanyard, you are pulled directly by the dog with whom you share the activity.
Feel an amazing connection with your dog as you work together. Walk or run (cross-country) depending on the terrain and your ability.
ExpErience
Discover the life of a musher and the little-known world of the sled dog. You’ll find out more about these amazing athletes and how they function.
You’ll have the chance to get up close and personal with them.
The Pack
OPIUM
She is the matriarch of the pack, which is initially made up of her children and her nephew. Opium is a female with incredible qualities. Her size and power surpass those of many males. She is outgoing and extremely affectionate. But beware of her mischievous side. Her eyes are observant and piercing. Opium has all the qualities to make a great lead dog, but prefers to move to the back to prove to the rest of the pack, through her explosiveness, that mum’s still got it!
RAKAM
Often a favourite, Rakam is a massive, majestic and charismatic dog.
He’s the big cuddly toy we all dreamed of having as a child! Extremely powerful and hard-working, he’s not afraid of hard work. He has unfailing motivation and determination. He lives for his sport and often likes to isolate himself from the group to recover better at the end of the day. He is nevertheless a gentle, affectionate dog who is easy to cuddle. He is Opium’s nephew, which makes him the cousin of the rest of the pack.
SHERKAN
A sensitive and endearing lead dog with a tender heart. He bears a striking resemblance to his father, who was a German shepherd crossed with a malamute. Sherkan is an intelligent, obedient and calm dog. His long reach enables him to keep up with the team quickly. He puts his heart and soul into leading the group. It’s important for him to shine and, above all, not to disappoint. He needs to be loved and encouraged, and gets a little jealous when attention is taken away from him.
SPIRIT
Snow-white and yet up to no good! Spirit is our ‘bullshit box’. Mischievous and teasing, he has the look of a big kid. At the same time, he’s a hard worker with a mind of steel and a surprising explosiveness.
He’s an extrovert dog with a strong need to be loved, and he won’t be shy about letting you know it. His great energy makes him frenetic when it comes to running. He is an indispensable driving force in the team. He’s a real mover and shaker!
SOOKIE
Trained as a lead dog, Sookie prefers to work as a co-driver. Calm, docile and very cuddly, she is an endearing dog. She often corrects the mistakes of her brother, Sherkan, by helping him with the steering. For a very long time, it was difficult to distinguish her from her brother Sirius. One day, Sirius played a little too hard with her, biting her ear. This new warrior look made it impossible to confuse her with her brother.
SIRIUS
The wildest of the group, he would certainly make an excellent wolf. Sociable by nature but very observant, Sirius has no interest in power within the pack. His driving efforts are neither regular nor systematic, which often earns him the nickname ‘Tourist’. A faithful representative of the famous phrase “the most important is to participate”, he nevertheless makes up for his laziness with extraordinary strength when it comes to helping his companions.
STELLA
It’s not easy finding a place for yourself in such a big family! Stella is the little miniature who survived. Unable to find a place to feed herself, she was given a bottle to cope. Her character is calm, shy and reserved, but she’s learning to assert herself. Despite her modest size compared to the rest of the litter, Stella has surprising muscle mass. In other words, she’s our ‘little tank’!
NOVAK
A magnificent husky-greenlander, Novak was an impressively large dog with a strong temperament. This quickly earned him the nickname “Sheriff” within the pack. He was a quiet force. He was benevolent, gentle, affectionate and a gourmet.
He was a victim of his huge heart, which suddenly stopped one October night in 2023. We miss his tenderness, laziness and charisma as much as his gluttony a little more every day.
